Book Review: The One and Only by Emily Giffin - Making Thyme for HealthHer style of writing is typically easy and entertaining and I knew I could look forward to settling down each night with a few chapters before falling asleep. The One and Only is a story told from the perspective of Shea Rigsby, a thirty-three-year-old sports reporter born and raised in the small college town of Walker, Texas. Along the way she is forced to face some of her deepest desires which could cost her some of the most important relationships in her life. The beginning did a great job grabbing my attention and keeping me intrigued as I continued to read. Throughout the book, there was a significant amount of time spent discussing the details of college football which might be a turn off for some women.

How can this book be from the same author as Something Borrowed. So Shea chooses to move forward instead of continuing to coast, particularly as I wrote early drafts and really got to know the characters, breaking up with her boyfriend and reaching out for a sports reporting job. This book lacked the Giffin WOW factor that most of her books have. EG: The subject was very emotional and challenging for me.When I was young I looked at even teenagers as being so far above me. Giffin is a talented writer who always comes up with a plot that is just a bit different than anything others are writing about. And I wholeheartedly agree with that: the reader's eye skips over "said" almost as if it weren't there. But Darcy's neat, Rachel?
The premise is that a seemingly capable and accomplished young woman who is making her way in the man's world of college football is also making lots of bad choices in the bok department. Neil slipped one arm around her, catching h. I was halfway through the book when I could not get myself to finish reading because of the many troubling points in the plot. I wish I could take back the moment that I bought this.
