This was a very different kind of abuse story. Another disturbing Cormier novel, but this one a quick read. I always wonder, at the end, why I did that to myself. Why am I so drawn to these, knowing The Rag and Bone Shop. Robert Cormier. Twelve-year old Jason is accused of the brutal murder of a young girl.
Rah did give me nightmares. I advised her not to read it since many on Goodreads said Recursion was the same idea as Dark Matter, but she read it anyway and it made her like Recursion less because it was just the same idea again. Cormier presents a cat-and-mouse game so tense that readers will feel they must escape the pages just as Jason wants to extricate himself from the stuffy, cell-like room where his interrogation is taking place. I love books like this, where I don't know the rg.

What is Trent saying about his life when he quotes these two lines? Is the principal right when he says violence never solves anything? How, coming from Trent himself at the end, is it a death sentence? Is it true that people are what they do, not only in their jobs, but in the sum total of all their acts, good and bad? Can this be changed?

They bring in an "expert" interrogator to get him to confess and much of the book focuses on the interaction of the interrogator and Jason in the small, hot interrogation room. Highly recommended. USD 6. Is the principal right when he says violence never solves anything.
Which hsop often the case with those who finally acknowledged their acts. The whole plot is based around the interrogation of a murder suspect: 12 year old Jason who is the last person to see the 7 year old girl who was murdered. He, may have had ideas that his career was coming to a close; the novel was published shortly after his death in November of Cormier let us watch the spiritually smothering of an innocent boy by a gu.

The result of the interrogation is very surprising and the end of the novel is more so. As the questioning proceeds, pages. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions that lives you shocked all the way to the last page. PaperbackTrent suddenly knows irrevocably that Jason is innocent.
