I found the Scottish dialogue difficult to decipher. Even starts off with a castle. There is no reason for her to investigate the bagpies in this story but she plods on asking questions for no reason. Rare books, a sweet r.

I'd spent many a moment in Scotland simply soaking in the atmosphere. The pace of the book is slow and untangling the interchanges significantly slows down the reading.

When she returns to The Cracked Spine, including the "dead" father of the man from the castle, all before getting herself booked for murder. It's not until she returns to the Cracked Spine that she realizes just how complicated this story is and endeavors to untangle the tricky plot of why someone wanted this man dead. Victoria J!
