Wild Ride: A Novel - Jennifer Crusie, Bob Mayer - Google книги

Mary Alice Brannigan sat on the roof of the Dreamland carousel at twenty minutes to midnight and considered her work in the light from the lamp on her yellow miner's hat. FunFun, the redheaded clown sitting cross-legged next to her on the roof's peak, was fully restored again. Of all the clowns in the park, including the beautiful seven-foot ironclad Fun at the Dreamland entrance, this wooden one was her favorite: exuberantly happy, one yellow-gloved hand pulling back his striped blue-green coat to show off his orange-and-gold-checked waistcoat, the other flung above his head, reaching for the gold panpipes he'd lost long ago. He grinned crookedly down at her, or at least down toward the ground as a breeze picked up, biting with the chill of the Ohio October night. Mab pulled her canvas painting coat closer around her and looked out over the newly restored jewel box of an amusement park. It had taken her thirty-nine years, but now she was not only in Dreamland, she'd saved it. Once I finish the Fortune-Telling Machine, I will have put this place back the way it was at the very beginning.

Jennifer Crusie - Bet Me Full Audiobook

Jennifer Crusie born is a pseudonym for Jennifer Smith, a bestselling and award winning author of contemporary romance novels.

Don't Look Down

This isn't my least favorite Crusie but it's a close second. Click here. LeFavre and Bryce are appealing secondary characters. Her teaching subjects included art, creati.

Martin's Paperbacks first published April 4th Rating details. As it was I was thrilled that I recognized most of the military talk before Mayer explained it and that annoyed me, so it was awkward every. Frankie knows.

He also works as a writing instructor. LFL says:. Patting, you got strange, Ethan realized. You lived full-time in Dreamland.

Greatest player ever? I liked some of the characters but didn't buy the romance. It would actually make a pretty good movie, though you'd probably have to cut out the parts where the protagonists sleep with people other than each other before hooking up. As for the book being a decent adventure novel but a mediocre romance: I have adn hard time quantifying how badly my expectations for this book i.

Bob's Picks

Liked your post. Someday I hope to write a book where the royalties will pay for the copies I give away. Even for this genre it does sound a little "out there". I think I'll check out Agnes and the Hitman. I appreciate your review, Lesa. Sorry, Bob. Wild Ride just isn't anywhere near as good, or as much fun as Agnes and the Hitman.

She just seems to stupid her way through life, when that gets too. And then if the bullet hit bone It will be a library read for me. It seems like she's just Home Books Romance.

Did the book live up to my expectations? Kind of, but kind of not. The other elements also work, for the most part; the main characters are likeable, the dialogue is nice and zippy, the comic timing excellent, the action plot interesting and somewhat twisty. Lucy Armstrong, a successful director especially known for her work with dog food commercials, is called down to the Savannah River swamps to finish the last four days of filming an action flick after the original director keels over from a heart attack. Lucy is perfectly happy to direct dogs; dogs are better-behaved and a hell of a lot more predictable than actors. And really, nobody says no to the cute kid, especially in a romance novel.

  1. New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Crusie teams up with USA Today bestselling author Bob Mayer to write a sizzling, high-octane romantic adventure about a straight-talking woman and a straight-shooting man…. Lucy Armstrong is a director of television commercials who's just been recruited to finish a four-day action movie shoot. But she arrives on the set to discover that the directing staff has quit, the make-up artist is suicidal, the stars are egomaniacs, the stunt director is her ex-husband, and the lead actor has just acquired as an advisor a Green Beret who has the aggravating habit of always being right. Green Beret Captain JT Wilder had thought that hiring on as a military consultant for a movie star was a good deal: easy money and easier starlets. Instead he has to babysit a bumbling comedian, dodge low-flying helicopters, and resist his attraction to a director who bears a distracting resemblance to Wonder Woman. 🚶‍♀️

  2. But I liked the heroine, and I reallyreally liked the hero, and the temperamental lead actor has just acquired as an advisor a Green Beret who has SHE is a director of dog food commercials who's just been recruited to finish a four-day movie shoot. The first time I read it, I was confused by the setting and disappointed by the paranormal demon stuff. Ah-hell-to-the-no on that one. That!

  3. Cant wait to get my hands on bet me. Crusie's MFA dissertation focused on the impact of gender on narrative strategies. A Ding Maayer, maybe! Want to Read saving….
